Why is this a surprise? A huge portion of gamers are immature, bigoted teenagers. Hell, immaturity and bigotry is rampant among older people as well. Parenting is a dying art.
Nope. I grew up in the 8 bit generation where games were beaten through hard work and determination.
Go back and try Battletoads, Mario without warping, etc and see the difference in difficulty. I've seen many articles here about how games are way too easy now. It's the truth. Younger people just don't realize it because they grew up with easier games.
There's a big difference between listening like a human and listening like a fricken bat. We don't have sonar. It's saved by the fact that it's optional but it shouldn't even be in there unless it's in an easy mode or something.
Because it's basically cheating. Can you see stuff through walls in real life? I completely agree with him. It's cheesy and totally out of place.
If you want to cheat, have at it. I won't touch it. Games are getting way too easy nowadays.
It's not just the price. As the article showed, there are many reasons why it's doing poorly.
The name confusing casuals, few games, price, hardware, marketing, etc. Nintendo screwed up in just about every way.
They went the casual route last gen and it paid off for them. The downside is they lost a lot of hard core gamers due to that choice. Now they want the HC gamers back but it's too late. Not many HC gamers think Nintendo will get 3rd pa...
It should have been called "Nintendo" like rumors were suggesting at the time. A nod to the console that started it all for them. Like how back in the day when you'd ask your friends if they wanted to come over and play Nintendo(a reference that many younger people here probably won't relate to).
I had a feeling this would happen to this game. Why can't anyone make a good Aliens game since AVP back in the day?
People should check out a game like Natural Selection 2. That's what this game should have been like. That game with the Aliens lore would have been very, very good.
I'll be honest. I've never been more apathetic about console gaming than right now. I'm really not excited at all and in the past I LOVED when new consoles came out. The new consoles will make the graphics look a little better and may have a touchpad on the controller but that doesn't excite me at all.
The only thing that I'm REALLY excited for is stuff like this: http://vimeo.com/59342255

Sorry, try playing even a mediocre player with a mouse and see how much you get schooled. Console players will never admit to it but it's the truth. Even at it's highest sensitivity, it doesn't even come close to a M+KB. Oh, and the main reason you're even able to hit anything is because of the auto aim. You people have gotten so used to it that you don't realize how much is really there. It's the only way people can play shooters on a console. Get rid of the aut...
The right analog stick needs to be a trackball. It makes for more accurate and quicker aiming in shooters. The amount of auto aim that is required to compensate for how slow and inaccurate analog sticks are is amazing.
I saw the video of just the man and girl walking through a dystopian city and they encounter like 3 or 4 men and have to kill them. I don't remember any signs of zombies in that trailer. But like I said, maybe I'm forgetting something.
Regardless, I feel there were some inconsistencies with how the AI reacted. It's a small sample size of an unfinished game. Maybe they'll fix those inconsistencies by the time it's done? We'll see how it turns out. ...
When did this turn into a zombie game? I first saw this game last E3 and I don't recall zombies. Maybe I'm forgetting?
Anyways, looks good but I am a little concerned about the AI. You can hear them talking right next to the zombies yet the zombies still don't attack or even go towards the sound. Someone said they can't see(so that would explain the flashlight not doing anything) but if that's the case, the zombies wouldn't make very intimidating f...
They really should think about doing something with the name to clarify to customers that they aren't the same game as The War Z. Completely different games and devs. Make sure people know this.
I'm enjoying it but it has issues here and there. Nothing major. It's much better than Crysis 2. I wish they'd tame down the melee a bit. You can get a kill with melee even if they aren't in your crosshairs.
That's because the auto-armor perk is being used by everyone. It's a bit OP'd. If you shoot them in the head or melee, it's much better. Also, people that are invisible are killed almost immediately if you shoot them.
The PC version isn't. Dedicated servers FTW.
It was on sale last summer on Steam. That's how I first found out about it. Not sure why it wasn't on sale again this winter?
PC has been dealing with these articles for probably close to 10 years now. It gets old, doesn't it?
It's fine to bring back UT but have a different dev team do it. Epic has lost their fastball.
If anyone's ever watched that new show on Fox called The Following, that girl with the short hair that has kidnapped the boy is the actress that plays Kara in that tech demo. Just an FYI for anyone that watches the show and has one of those 'I've seen here somewhere' moments.
